Killeen is a city in Bell County, Texas, United States. It is located in Central Texas and is part of the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area. Killeen has a population of approximately 150,000 people and covers an area of around 56 square miles. It is situated around 70 miles north of Austin and around 50 miles southwest of Waco.
Killeen is home to the Fort Hood Army Base, which is one of the largest military installations in the world. The base covers an area of around 340 square miles and is home to around 45,000 soldiers and their families.
